I am constantly amazed at televsion’s ability to take a decent song and, by placing it correctly in the show, make the song sound really good.
Let’s start with Gossip Girl. For a complete listing of the songs from each episode of Gossip Girl, check out the official website here. The first song I would like to mention: “Google Me” by Teyana Taylor. Now, the title of the sound is great. Nice, creative, to the point. And the song has its moments, but in the end, the beat is the only thing that makes this song worth a listen. There’s an interesting music video for it on YouTube here.
And then there’s Shwayze. I’m not the biggest fan of the whole beachy music thing, but Shwayze’s definitely original, mixing beach pop with rap. Not that I call myself a fan. Anyway, check out “Buzzin” by Shwayze, which was featured in Gossip Girl, here.
Sadly, The CW does not have the 90210 music listed. I expected they would. Perhaps we will see that come up later this week. Until then.
